Jerry Buie MSW, LCSW, founder of Pride Counseling since 1998, established Utah’s first LGBTQIA+ affirming practice. With a background in social work and academia, Jerry brings over 25 years of experience in championing mental health within the LGBTQIA+ community. He’s held influential roles on boards including the Utah AIDS Foundation, Sage Utah, and the Naraya Cultural Preservation Council. Committed to fostering dialogue and reconciliation, Jerry has worked on ethical practices for individuals facing conflicts between their spirituality and sexual orientation. Beyond his professional life, he’s a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Together with Bruce, he co-organized ‘Inspirit,’ a community initiative introducing earth-based spiritual approaches. Jerry’s spiritual journey spans over two decades, drawing mentorship from various indigenous earth-based systems, allowing him to guide ceremonies and spiritual journeys globally.
